MY LITTLE (BIG) BROTHER AND NEW SISTER

I remember the day my brother, Nathan, was born. June 2, 1985. My mom delivered my brother at home....11 pounds and 12 ounces. He was big even then.

Now, a professional football player (he just signed a contract to play in a new football league, the United Football League) and even more important, a husband. It was such an honor to photograph his wedding to my new sister-in-law, Jen, this past Saturday in St. Louis.

Jen is the perfect sister-in-law. I cannot imagine how intimidating it was for her to meet my family for the first time....4 protective sisters of Nathan. But she easily fit in the "Williams" clan and my mom fell in love with her as much as Nathan did. Jen is one of the most sincere and generous friends I have ever had. She has made my brother happier than any other person.

So under one of the hottest, cloudless days this summer (over 100 degrees), Nathan and Jen promised their love to each other. Despite the sweat (you can't even see it in the photos), we had a great time taking photos all over St. Louis and at the zoo where their reception was held.

I could NOT have shot this wedding without the help of the amazing Matt Dunmore (Matt Dunmore Photography). He drove out from Chattanooga, TN, to be a part of the day and help me with yet another wedding. He gave my feet and big belly a rest when I really needed it! This baby is ready to be a photographer! Thanks so much Matt!

Congratulations Nathan and Jen. I could not have asked for a better brother or sister-in-law!

The "Williams" siblings.....Dave & Nellie, Sarah, Nathan & Jen, Caitlin and Rachael

MEREDITH AND PHIL

The past two weekends were two of the most amazing weddings.

Meredith and Phil were married on June 20th. Strong thunderstorms filled the days leading up to Meredith's wedding, but Saturday was beautiful, blue clear skies. Although Meredith's father passed away a few years ago, she said he loved thunderstorms and it was his way of telling her that he was still present and looking after her. The day before the wedding, it would storm everytime she was inside or driving somewhere, but when she got out of her car, blue skies would open up.

Phil, on the other hand, said the storms were a reminder to him "to take care of Meredith" as it seemed to pour down rain everytime he was outside or running errands.

We had the most gorgeous setting to take photos at pre-ceremony. Every detail, from the flowers to the pizza delivered at the reception at the end of the night, was planned perfectly. I can only imagine how much fun Meredith and Phil are having on their honeymoon in Europe right now, eating Italian pizza.

SISTERS

There is something very special about photographing sisters. Maybe it is because I have three sisters, but there is such a sweet bond that sisters share and it starts from the beginning. (Brothers are also very special....their photos will be next).

SOON TO BE MR. AND MRS.

It is the season for weddings and wedding planning. Love is in the air everywhere! I always have so much fun photographing engagement sessions and finding out unique facts about every couple.

Danielle and Brad will be married next May. I love these guys-- Danielle is such a sweet, sincere friend and Brad, who is totally head over heels in love with her, is a wonderful guy.

Julia and JJ are going to have a "warm" winter wedding this coming January. I laughed a lot with this couple! Very easy going and happy. I can't wait for their wedding. Julia just graduated from Medical School and is starting her residency out of state (while planning the wedding)!

KATY AND BEN

Katy and Ben are one of those couples that everyone loves. They are instant friends with everyone they meet and their smiles easily brighten any day.

When I first meet Katy and Ben four years ago when I moved to Peoria, I knew their relationship was special and more than what most couples share together. They are constantly building one another up and enjoying each moment together.

So after dreaming about her wedding to Ben for the past few years, Katy had the perfect wedding on Saturday. Storm clouds cleared to open blue skies and the day was celebrated with lots of love and beautiful details, once again by Beth at Save the Date.

I know Katy and Ben will be blessed with many joyful days ahead.
